Better Man

Standing tall

with broad shoulders

and well-groomed beards;

striking sharp jawlines,

with apparent rigid hands,

then a deep bass voice.

What makes a man?

Life of the family,

modest in his own way.

Like Isaac, you be the lamb today,

if all goes, the surname must stay.

He holds all, yet exudes stoicism.

He wields power, but enacts altruism.

What makes a better man?

All eyes are on him,

yet none sees through him.

Auricles are poised to listen,

yet society shows no hearing.

Weakness in showing feeling,

yet he exists due to strong emotions.

What better is a man?

First, as just a boy,

status made one coy.

Then value grew greener,

and frivolity became larger.

Now, the fun is to many women.

Forget not, a woman makes men.

What makes a man better?
